Phobia (2015) | 2016

In the summer of 2015, the fire blazed fiercely and engulfed the kitchen. As a result of the event, I have developed pyrophobia, as well as igniterroremophobia, which is the fear of fire alarms. To convey the emotional turmoil and fragmented memories associated with these phobias, I utilized spray paint on Mylar sheeting to depict the aftermath of a charred kitchen. Furthermore, I employed acrylic, oil, and charcoal paints on both stonehenge paper and canvas to illustrate the anarchy and chaos that I experienced during the event. The coarse, repetitive marks and textural elements present in these works further amplify the sense of disarray and confusion that I endured.
